Here is the difficulty –

I have a roommate who tells me she would like to move out in April 1st (and reside with her mother and father) at 12th of March i.e. I was told she would vacate in 18 days.

I just want to know whether I really should give her complete safety back? Am I entitled to do it even if I do not have complete month to search for yet another roommate? She is adamant to move out in April and wants her safety back. I am unable to get anybody to reside with me till date.

I believe that this is not counted as 1 month’s notice. I am new to New York, so I was asking yourself if there is any this kind of factor either as “one particular month’s notice”.

You would only be needed to give her back half of her deposit because it is in fact “30 days notice” That is needed, they do not say “1 month” because not all months equal 30 days. Considering that she is vacating at generally half of the 30 days she is not entitled to the full deposit back.

Long story short, I don’t need to pay 10% commission + a fixed transaction fee on trades that I make, especially since I am the one doing all of the research. Many low-priced online brokerages seem to be good, yet I shy away from phrases like “fee rates may change without notice.” Additionally, I am looking to transfer my accounts, and fees to do so are unacceptable. Does anyone know of a brokerage firm that is straightforward and doesn’t charge exorbitant fees? Thanks!

1. Henry’s father was killed in a conflict between warring sects when he was a young child and his sisters were sold into slavery. The experiences instilled a sense of duty in him when he grew older. He saw the war as a way to get back at the same fundamentalists who tore apart his family.

2. Once Henry was in battle he came to realize the difficulties with answering to orders without question. His part in battle was to clear out towns for enemies, which often meant harming women and children. He was morally at war with himself.

3. Henry voiced his concerns about killing women and children and Jim and Wilson didn’t care. They said it was all part of a bigger cause and that no one life was more significant than an anthill. It shows that Jim and Wilson were like many other soldiers and that they chose to compartmentalize their true feelings in order to deal with the situation they were thrust into.

4. Henry is certainly not the only one who is nervous. All of the characters have their own unique inner conflicts. The point of the book is to show how people interact with others and outwardly show a ‘different persona’ from what they are really feeling.

We have a nephew who is in his 20s (we are in our 30s w/14 yr old daughter) and is in the USCG. He seems to be “on shore leave” every few weeks and will just show up at our house without calling, or will give short notice (“hey i’m on the way”) before coming. When he arrives, he tends to basically sit around, watch TV, eat our food and make a mess. He basically comes and goes like it is his own home.

At first we had no problem accomodating him. In fact, prior to his enlisting in the USCG, he lived with us for a period of time. But even then, his plan was to stay “one month,” but after he spent all his savings in one week, one month became more like four months.

My wife is now in her ninth month of pregnancy and his act of just showing up is beginning to wear on us both.

Does anyone find this rude and/or inconsiderate? How do we broach this topic with him w/o hurting feelings? I’m trying to understand why I’m so bent out of shape about it….

YES . that is very rude and inconsiderate. Next time he calls be honest with him and tell him that you are unable to accomodate him at this time due to your wifes position but would like him to visit sometime during his stay.
