Was fired from work without “reasonable notice”- what can I do?
Question by Gene F: Was fired from perform without having “sensible discover”- what can I do?
Hi,
I was fired from my workplace (school) a couple of weeks ago, affective right away. I did sign a contract for a year with the school, in it there’s a paragraph saying that the termination of employment ought to be created with a ‘reasonable notice’. since I was provided none, I take into account that a breeching of the agreement- given that I wasn’t given any time to strategy ahead, and search for a new job!
Do I have a situation?
Can I sue them, without having using a lawyer? if so, how?
What is the finest way to method this?
Thank you, Gene.

Who defines “affordable”?
The school might consider that IF you know you are being fired in two days… you’ll spend these two days RUINING every little thing you touch. “Reasonable” for them could quite nicely be Quickly.
No, you cannot sue. Go find a job that in fact pays money.

I think that is a breech of contract. Reasonable actually means 2 weeks, I think.. They should at least give you a weeks notice. That’s cruel. Considering the extreme lack of jobs/the crappy economy, the least they can do is to give you as little pain as possible. I’m really sorry to hear about this. You should sue for the remaining year’s salary!!!!!

LikeDislikeBefore anyone can answer your question, you’re going to have to explain why you were fired.
If you were fired , and you were under contract then your only hope would be to sue.But if you were fired for a good reason then you probably won’t win.
I believe that your contract meant that you would need to give reasonable notice if you were to quit.
Good Luck.
