I checked the IRS website and this is the notice posted in response to me entering my information…”We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed. You will receive a notice from us requesting additional information from you. When you receive the notice, please provide the requested information within 30 days. You may not receive all or a part of your refund until we receive and review the information we requested from you. If you need more information after you receive our notice, call the number on the notice.”
Has anyone ever seen this notice? If so what does it mean?

It means what is says. The IRS found some problem with your return and will contact you about it.
Don’t lose any sleep over it. If the IRS found a problem this fast, it is highly unlikely that you’re in serious trouble. It’s most likely you made some small error entering your information onto the form and it needs to be corrected.

Did you use EIC? Sometimes they delay for that reason. They need you to prove that your dependent lived with you and that you’re eligible fo rthe EIC. Hope this helps.

LikeDislikeI wouldn’t be too concerned about the message but, in will in fact delay the receipt of your refund for a bit. My friend got the same message and they requested proof of a dependant living with him and him having legal custody but, this was triggered because he was claimed on someone else’s return as well. All it is, is there is some discrepancy in information that you entered on your return to what the IRS has in their system and basically want you to send the additional information “proving” what ever it may be… If you call the IRS they will be able to give you more information on the problem and should be able to tell you what the notice is requesting…
