has anybody heard “deja vu” by beyonce?
Question by wasimjse: has anybody heard “deja vu” by beyonce?
Have you noticed that “vu” is pronounced incorrect? If yes does it bother you? Or do you usually pronounce it like that?
I like that song very significantly but it annoys me that it is pronounced wrong. I really feel kinda stupid since no one else would seem to notice it. I wonder if it was our french teacher who tought us one thing wrong.

LikeDislikeI don’t know how Beyonce pronounces it.
But, in America, you don’t know how to pronounce the french “u” anyway. It’s so funny when you say “deja vu”… you make me roll on the floor everytime I heard it pronounced by an american. I’ve never heard Beyonce pronouce it, but if she does it differently than the way you pronounce it in America, she’s propably pronounce it the french way … so she may be right.

I am french and I just paid attention to this song…
It’s definitely not the french way to pronounce!!! Be sure of it!
She says “day-djah Voooooo”…. it woud mean “Already You (/=vous)”
It sounds english of course.
She should say “day jah vu” (with the french “u”). It means “Already seen”.
I did not know know this song… But the english and american accents always sound cute to french ears….
