Question by RichardFitzentite: Does any individual else see Immediate Television as variety of a lame business?
I have lately discovered that a couple of channels are on an East Coast broadcast time. I am on the West Coast. Lets say there is a display that I view @ 9:00pm, on a particular channel. With Immediate Tv that exact same show will air @ six:00pm rather of 9:00 like it should and like it is advertised on that particular channel’s site. To me this is not the same value for the channel. Immediate Television says they offer so much a lot more than cable, but with cable at least I could view Tv at “normal” instances.

I called to complain about this and the buyer assistance rep explained to me that I should have checked this out prior to signing a 2 year contract. I responded that would be like going to Dairy Queen and asking if their Ice Cream is poisoned. I shouldn’t have to ask if they poison their food, and I really feel that all Television firms really should broadcast shows in accordance to the respective time zone.

I also feel like this is a “sort-of-scam” to get you to purchase the DVR and pay additional for it. At the very least it is a extreme cost cutting move on DTV’s component and one particular they do not bother to explain prior to you signing the agreement. The buyer service rep baisically explained that I need to have asked (and somehow verified that I did not inquire….strange), the worth for the channel is nonetheless there, that I just have to change my viewing habits and that she would not let me out of my contract but would downgrade my service. Bless her heart.

Does anyone else have a equivalent experience? Is it just me or I am I wierd that I don’t want to come straight home and flip on the Television just so I can view “Burn Notice”, “Ghost Hunters” or “The Ultimate Fighter” @ six:00pm?
Never have a DVR, never really feel I really should have to get 1. Just want shows to air at thier appropriate time or to be told about it up front.
My complete point is that this was not disclosed. And it is thier issue, they conserve funds by carrying out it this way and don’t let you know ahead of time (ahead of signing up for 2 years). They advertise packages beginning @ $ 29.99. If I add DVR I will be having to pay $ 80.99 for a regular package. I feel its a bit misleading and a small crooked to spend added in order to view the shows I spend for.

I feel ya on this a single. I got employed to cable myself so the time zone point became an problem. since you’re on a 2 year agreement you’ll have to put up with it unless of course you want to pay a cancellation fee. my advice would be to discover how to system your DVR to record the shows so you can nevertheless watch them when ever you want. the advantage to this would be that you can skip by way of the commercials which makes watching the shows more pleasant (did for me).
