Do you notice that when babies start babbling the one distinctive thing they say is “Abba”?
Question by ~~Birdy~~: Do you notice that when babies start babbling the one distinctive thing they say is “Abba”?
I’m not sure what language that is, but I think in some way it is universal. I’ve heard that “Baba” is another form of it.
Do you believe that infants have spiritual contact with God before they are able to reason?
You guys are cracking me up.
Paul B – wow, I was just watching A-ha videos yesterday. They have been recording and touring together for 25 years and are hugely popular in “the rest of the world”. They were only a one hit wonder in the US

Or is it a connection with the Swedish Pop Phenomenon?

Maybe babies intrinsically like Swedish pop groups?
Bolide: DAMN! Here I thought I was being original with my Swedish pop-culture reference >_>

LikeDislikeThat sound is made by opening and closing the mouth, with no tongue movement.
The first thing a baby is capable of are sounds without tongue movement.
Papa
Mama
baba
etc.
What if God’s name was “gooo…” or (frustrated grunt)?

LikeDislikeYes obviously they have a direct line to God, it couldn’t possibly be that it’s just a noise babies make.

LikeDislikeHaha, no. Babies say ‘aba’ because it’s easy to say.

LikeDislikeI’ve also heard babies say “Aha”. Maybe they have an inherent preference for 80s music.

LikeDislikeI think it’s the other way around, Abba (Hebrew for father) probably developed as that word, because it is a fundamental sound

LikeDislikeLOL I don’t think it’s spiritual at all- just what humans thought, in the beginning- when the baby said baba baba… how cute… he’s calling me baba… or mamama
Cause some babies say ma ma first.
In the USA, I’m sure they say Baba first because it’s bottle- and that is all babies think about at first- nursing!

LikeDislikeBabies and children know much more about God than any Atheist I have met.
And now science is catching up to this truth! They have discovered that all people start losing their genius at age 4!
Kids are great teachers. It’s when we “grow up” and stop learning from them that we begin to become true idiots. Fools of the lowest order scoff at what a child can teach them. Jesus Christ implored us to study them if we wished to know who would be greatest in heaven. Yet again, philosophy from Christ that has taken science thousands of years to validate.
Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Matthew 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Why did He not just start explaining it to them? Why did He call forth a child? So we could SEE both teachers. Our Lord Jesus and this child.
Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Now add the “new” findings of science to your knowledge of this scripture and you see Jesus Christ saying “Become a genius”. And we all have hope of genius in us.
Loved the question Birdy!
Merry Christmas.

LikeDislikeNo, I didn’t notice that.
I have two kids (14 and 9 now) — neither babbled “abba.”
You’d have to supply some evidence of this claimed “god” before you could assert babies had any “connection” to it in any way.
Peace.

LikeDislikeAs a baby, amongst my many random gurgles and spurts, stood the distinctive sounds of “Krishna” “Vishnu” and “Glory be to Allah”
