Question by rikimaru_94: Did anyone else notice that michael jackson recycled lyrics in a lot of songs?
Now. This isn’t a put down. I am a huge fan of Michael Jackson and he is one of my biggest idols. So don’t take it the wrong way. I just listened to a lot of songs and I discovered this out of observance. Now I’m not talking about the common and popular “hee-hee” laugh. or the alteration of the word “Come On” to “Shamone.” I’m talking about full phrases

here are two that I can think of at the moment.

In Michael’s song “bad” he says “Your talk is cheap. You’re not a man. Your throwing stones to hide your hands.”

In the song Ghost he says “Crying wolf ain’t like a man. Throwing rocks to hide your hands.”

I guess that both of these lines of lyrics can relate to the expression “Dog’s that bark don’t bite” that’s my interpretation of it…

Now. The second reused phrase I noticed.

“Blame it on yourself. Ain’t nobody’s fault.” … Okay so “Blame it on the boogie” was a Jackson 5 song technically and not just Michael’s. But anyways. If you listen to that song he uses that phrase near the end of it. and then..in the song “scream” the phrase is again heard…and again near the end of the song.

here is the blame it on the boogie music video on youtube. the phrase can be heard at 3:07

here is an acapella of scream on youtube. and the phrase can CLEARLY be heard at 3:55

These phrases may have been reused in even more songs. I don’t know. but those are the ones I can think of right now. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this? And does anyone else know any lyrics that Michael reused in different songs?

Answer by Michael Jackson ❤ reѕт ιn peace
I noticed last night…I cant even remember which song I started off singing, but it was either Heal The World or We Are The World. I kept getting confused at the part where he says “there are people dying” because he says the same thing in both songs and they’re pretty similar songs I guess. I had no idea which one I was singing cause I kept alternating at that part of the song.
I don’t really think that there’s anything wrong with that though. He’s probably one of the best (if not THE best) song writers that ever lived, I think his lyrics are amazing and I don’t get sick of hearing them in more than one of his songs.
I’m not accusing you of anything, I know you weren’t trying to point him out like that, I’m just saying what an amazing artist he was.
